What you are actually crafting
You are not “making a new egg.” You are moving a locked special onto a Secret body. If you confirm without locking Cycle of Ash, the fusion can keep a weaker 404 default and you have spent a Fenghuang. Treat the preview pane as mandatory reading—unlocked donor fields are not guaranteed (Best fusions).
Prerequisites most writeups assume:
- A 404 Chick from Cursed Eggs (Secret, well under 1%).
- A Radiant Fenghuang from Royal Eggs (Celestial band, about 1% in Gamezebo’s Royal index) that actually has Cycle of Ash.

Farm A — 404 Chick (Cursed chain)
Do not start this craft by hatching random Nest Eggs and hoping. Use the documented chain:

Farm B — Radiant Fenghuang (Royal chain)
TechWiser / Roonby (15–16 Aug 2026) describe a Scratch→Royal ladder that sits beside the 404 hunt so you can run both as AFK goals:
- Cosmo Brat still farms Scratch while you are not on Cursed.
- Hatch Scratch toward Crest Rooster (Royal lays around 60% in those writeups).
- Hatch Royal toward Rooster of Fortune (100% Royal). Fuse extra Fortunes for lay speed the same way you fuse Founders for Colossus.
- Keep hatching Royal until Radiant Fenghuang appears.
- Confirm the Fenghuang actually shows Cycle of Ash before you treat it as fusion material. A pretty Celestial with the wrong special is the wrong parent.
You only need one correct Fenghuang for this craft. Extra Royals become collection, combat tests, or food—not accidental 404 fodder.
