Grow a Chicken Fighter Sell Chickens Guide
Turn obsolete birds into Cash—without deleting the chicken that lays your next egg.
A crowded coop looks like wealth and plays like lag. In Grow a Chicken Fighter, selling weak or obsolete chickens is a core Cash skill—right next to PIT combat, fusion, and feeder/recycler loops. This guide teaches a simple triage: Carry / Route / Fuse parent / Sell. Follow it before you dump Cosmo Brat, Viking, Agent Cluck, or Stone Face by mistake.
The four tags
- Carry — Wins PIT timing tests or stabilizes TOWER. Keep equipped (Best chickens).
- Route — Lays an egg you still need (Viking, Cosmo Brat, NPC Chick, Stone Face, Agent Cluck, Ballerina Hen, Commando Rooster, Astro Chick). Keep until the branch goal is done (Egg routes, 404 Chick).
- Fuse parent — Loses PIT tests but sits on a planned craft (How to fuse, Fuse Thunder Egg).
- Sell — Duplicate commons, outclassed tutorial birds, or extras that fail all three jobs above.
If a bird has two tags, keep it. Only pure Sell birds become Cash.
When selling is correct
- Inventory is full and Nest spam is blocking better hatches.
- You need immediate Cash for an attack breakpoint during a live 2x Money window (Increase attack, Code rewards).
- A chicken lost three PIT timing tests against your current carry.
- You already secured a duplicate route bird (second Cosmo, second Viking).
- Pre-rebirth cleanup: spend or convert Cash-producing junk before reset soft-locks value (Rebirth).
When selling is a mistake
- Selling Cosmo Brat before NPC Chick.
- Selling NPC Chick / Stone Face before 404 (or before you abandon that hunt).
- Selling Agent Cluck before Fortune Egg.
- Selling Ballerina Hen before Balloon Egg.
- Selling Astro Chick / Commando before Void / Ordnance goals.
- Selling your only Thunder-line carry because a Discord screenshot hyped a different skin.
- Selling during the first five minutes after rebirth when you have not retested anything yet.
Open the Flock index every time. If the UI says a chicken lays an egg you lack, it is not junk.
Sell versus fuse
| Situation | Prefer |
|---|---|
| Need Cash in the next 10 minutes for attack | Sell |
| Have a clear fuse recipe that upgrades the carry | Fuse |
| Bird opens a missing egg route | Keep (neither) |
| Duplicate common with no route text | Sell |
| Unique rare with bad PIT times but Thunder parents | Fuse parent / Keep |
Fusion consumes potential Cash and a parent. Selling prints Cash now. Neither action should be emotional—run the table.
Session hygiene loop
- Hatch sitting eggs (Egg types).
- PIT-test anything that might be a carry.
- Tag Route birds from the egg chart.
- Park Fuse parents in a short mental list.
- Sell the rest.
- Spend Cash on attack / feeder / recycler—not cosmetics—while buffs are live (Make money fast, Missions and shop).
- Arm offline laying before logout (Eggs offline).
Creators in beginner videos literally pause to “sell some of these” after code hatches—that is healthy, not panic, when tags are correct.
Community reward and code eggs first
Before a sell spree, claim Community Thunder Egg and finish code hatches so you know what the new roster looks like (Codes, Getting started). Selling the flock, then hatching a better Thunder pull, is fine. Selling the only Viking that just unlocked Scratch lays is not.
Events and sell pressure
Chaos / Hot / UFO spikes can flood eggs. Hatch → tag → sell overflow so inventory stays open for Blazing or Cursed stacks. Do not AFK on a full coop.

Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers tied to this page.
Should I sell or fuse extra chickens?
Fuse when a craft upgrades your carry or a planned Thunder line. Sell low-stat duplicates when Cash is the bottleneck—after checking egg routes.
Which chickens should I never sell early?
Route birds: Cosmo Brat, Viking, NPC Chick, Stone Face, Agent Cluck, Ballerina Hen, Commando Rooster, and Astro Chick until their egg goals are done.
Can selling help before rebirth?
Yes. Convert junk into Cash and spend on lasting upgrades or fusions before the reset wipes spendable Cash.
Do code eggs mean I should sell everything?
No. Hatch and evaluate first, then sell only birds that fail Carry, Route, and Fuse-parent tests.
